Light of Hope

DECEMBER - 2023

IN FOCUS

"The Light of Hope Program is exactly what its name says, a light of hope in my life. Working with this community is very rewarding to me, seeing everyone's growth and improvement in all the activities that we do.  I enjoy spending time with everyone here, and helping everyone."

Josefina Martinez is one of Light of Hope's outstanding employees.  She has shown exemplary works and the participants in the program and their parents love her as she is in high demand to work with their sons and daughters,

We look forward to Josefina's continued success in the Light of Hope Program.

Josefina also assists with our S.U.R.F. Program.  Here, she is helping participants prepare sack lunches for a boating adventure at Ventura Harbor.

WHAT'S HAPPENED

WHAT'S NEW

POTTERY CLASSES

At The Naslund and Naslund Foundation, we believe that everyone deserves to express themselves creatively. Our Community Integration Program offers pottery classes to individuals with special needs, giving them the chance to explore their creativity and develop new skills. Our Life of Hope participants have recently started taking pottery classes at Clay Studio in Thousand Oaks, and we are excited to see their artistic abilities take shape. We are grateful to Esther and Ali for their support in providing this opportunity.

Cady was treated to a Disney Christmas Experience by her parents!

HOME ECONOMICS

At The Naslund and Naslund Foundation's Light of Hope Community Integration Program, we believe that home economics is an important part of our participants' education. Thanks to two of our parents, Mary M. and Vicky F., we are proud to offer home economic classes where our participants can learn cooking, baking, sewing skills, and other artistic endeavors. We are excited to see the delights that our attendees will create and to see their skills develop!

QUOTE FOR THE MONTH

INSPIRATION

Home truly is where the heart is, and we believe that everyone should have a place to call home, especially during the Christmas season. The Naslund & Naslund Foundation's Light of Hope Program provides that sense of safety, comfort, and love to those who may need it most. We invite you to spread joy and peace, not just within the walls of the place you call home, but to your community as well.

Have a safe & happy holiday!
